Does Plastiform Shrink?

No. Plastiform have virtually zero shrinkage during polymerization. The mixed volume equals the final cured volume.

This means no correction factor is needed when comparing impression dimensions to the original part or to a blueprint.

Other factors can still affect measured dimensions:

  • Temperature differences between the part and the measurement environment
  • Mechanical deformation from rough extraction
  • Removing the impression before curing is complete

These are handling issues, not material shrinkage.
