Can Plastiform Be Used Underwater ?

Yes. Plastiform polymerizes without oxygen, so it cures underwater and in oxygen free environments. The surface must still be free of oil and grease before application.

  • Water. Does not block polymerization or contaminate the impression. Fluid products displace water as they flow into cavities.
  • Oil. Oil on the surface must be removed with a validated degreaser before applying.
  • Temperature. Cold liquids slow the polymerization. Allow extra time below 15°C.
  • Flowing liquid. Fast flowing water or oil can wash away Fluid products before they cure. Use Pasty or Manual Putty, or build a temporary dam.

Aggressive chemicals during application can affect curing. Contact support for specific chemical environments.
