Make an Impression
This is the full workflow from preparation to extraction. Each step links to a dedicated article for the details.
- Select the product. Use the Plastiform Finder to find the perfect product for your problem.
- Degrease the surface. Spray the DN1 or any validated degreaser and let it evaporate. See Degreasing Importance.
- Mix the components. Extrude until the color is uniform. See Mix the Components.
- Inject or apply the material. Keep the nozzle immersed and avoid air traps. See Inject Without Bubbles.
- Wait for polymerization. Check the drop test with a fingernail before extracting.
- Extract the impression. Pull straight out. Never rotate or unscrew. See Extract Without Breaking.
- Measure the replica. Use the right instrument for the impression hardness.
Most failed impressions come from one of three causes: poor degreasing, uneven mixing, or wrong extraction movement.
