Product Storage and Shelf Life

Unopened Plastiform cartridges and pots remain usable for up to 3 years from manufacture when stored correctly. Once opened, storage conditions become an important factor and shelf life shortens slightly.

Unopened Products

Cartridges (50 ml and 400 ml):

  • Store between 15°C and 25°C.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Store upright with its original cap closed.
  • Do not freeze. Freezing can separate the components permanently.

Pots (900 ml and 90 ml):

  • Store between 10°C and 25°C.
  • Keep the lid tightly closed.
  • Store flat.
  • Do not freeze. Freezing can separate the components permanently.

Bulk containers (1.7 L and 10.2 L):

  • Store between 10°C and 25°C.
  • Keep the cap or tap sealed.
  • Store flat and remix both component independently, with a different malaxer, before use.
  • Do not freeze. Freezing can separate the components permanently.

Opened Products

Cartridges:

Once the impression is polymerized, after product use, unmount the nozzle and directly close the cartridge using its original plug. Use until the printed expiry date if properly resealed.

Pots:

Replace the lid immediately after each use. Use a clean spatula or scoop. Do not switch scoops between impressions, always use the white one with the white component, and the colored scoop with the colored component.

Do not return unused mixed material to the pot. Do not cross contaminate base and catalyst compartments. Use until the printed expiry date if properly resealed.

Signs a product has degraded:

  • Base or catalyst has separated into layers that will not remix to a uniform color.
  • Cartridge extrudes unevenly or one component runs ahead of the other.
  • Mixed material cures significantly faster or slower than the stated time.
  • Cured impression is tacky, rubbery, or shows uneven hardness.

Storing Cured Impressions

Cured impressions are chemically stable and can be stored indefinitely. For long term archiving:

  • Keep at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
  • Avoid sustained temperatures above 100°C.
  • Store in a rigid container to prevent accidental crushing.
  • Label with part number, date, product reference, and operator.
  • Do not stack heavy objects on impressions.
