INNOVATION AND METROLOGY
The company has always been concerned with providing solutions to the problems of its partners.
The Rivelec team has detected a recurring difficulty in quality control processes for most of its customers: the measurement of the internal dimensions of mechanical parts. Many of these companies (especially those in Aeronautics and Space) were forced to destroy certain parts to measure their internal shapes. These processes, in addition to being complex and time-consuming, sometimes cost a lot of money and result in industrial waste.
In the early 1980s, Rivelec therefore devised an innovative technology: Dimensional Molding, and developed a polymer with unique technical properties: Plastiform. Thanks to its very high accuracy (due to the absence of dimensional shrinkage during polymerization), this product makes it possible to obtain impressions accurate to the micron, and thus avoids destructive testing.
THE PLASTIFORMIZATION OF THE INDUSTRY
The excellent results obtained, as well as the success of the plastiforms, have led Rivelec to develop new products to meet the needs of different types of applications: complex shape impressions, external impressions, large volume impressions, roughness control, surface finish control, etc.
In 2002, Fabrice ALPANDA became the company’s manager, and accelerated the development of the PLASTIFORM range. It opens up the global market and makes the brand the market leader.
Today, plastiforms simplify the quality control of some of the world’s most advanced mechanical parts and have become an essential part of dimensional inspection, particularly in the oil, aerospace, medical and pharmaceutical industries.
